HypnoBirthing Classes

The hypnotism services I render to the public are defined as the use of hypnosis to inculcate positive thinking and the capacity for self-hypnosis. I do not

represent my services as any form of medical, behavioral or mental health care, and despite research to the contrary, by law I may make no health benefit

claims for my services. North Shore Hypnosis utilizes hypnotism to help clients where I coach or guide to motivate individuals to achieve their goals.

Hypnotism for medical or psychological problems requires a written referral from a licensed practitioner of those healing arts."

Safer, Easier, More Comfortable Birthing

in the Way That Most Mirrors Nature

Have you chosen to experience the benefits of a natural, drug free childbirth?  Nurses and doctors are becoming increasingly aware of the advantages of using

hypnosis.  You will always have the ability to use anesthesia if you desire, but most doctors and nurses report that, even when requested, much less is needed

than when hypnosis is not used.  HypnoBirthing® moms and their babies feel better, and are more alert for the experience.  Ask your doctor about how

avoiding chemical anesthesia or using much less, aids in recovery for the new mother and her infant.

HypnoBirthing®  is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. The HypnoBirthing®  concept is not new to obstetrics and gynecology, but rather a "rebirth"

of the philosophy of birthing as it existed thousands of years ago, and recaptured in the work of Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, an English obstetrician, who first

forwarded the concept of natural birthing in the 1920s. The Mongan Method teaches you that in the absence of fear and tension, severe pain does not have

to be an accompaniment of labor.

Throughout the world, HypnoBirthing® instructors successfully teach women and their birthing partners relaxation techniques that eliminate the fear-

tension-pain syndrome which results in a more joyful, shared childbirth experience.  In the absence of fear and tension, severe pain doesn't have to

accompany labor.  If, during your pregnancy, you learn relaxation techniques to eliminate fear, tension and pain you can experience childbirth awake

and alert, relaxed, mentally, physically and emotionally.

HypnoBirthing® is an alternative to manage birthing your child without the use of drugs or Lamaze. Hypnosis has been approved by the American Medical

Association (AMA) for medical procedures, including the reduction or elimination of pain.  You will learn how to make your care provider aware of the

HypnoBirthing® process, so that your obstetrician/gynecologist/midwife can effortlessly allow for the process to make your experience as safe and painless

as possible.  Becoming a mother has never been easier or safer!

Achieve birth fulfillment awake and alert...
in a totally relaxed state of mind and body

In your HypnoBirthing® class, you will gain an understanding of how the birthing muscles work in perfect harmony--as they were designed to--when your

body is sufficiently relaxed. You will learn how to achieve this kind of relaxation, free of the resistance that fear creates, and you will learn to use your natural

birthing instincts for a calm, serene and comfortable birthing.

Best begun about half way through the pregnancy, the mother is taught  self hypnosis.  This technique allows the mother to greatly alleviate the discomfort

of the natural process of contractions. During the rest of the pregnancy the mother must practice these techniques so that she will remain comfortable and

at ease when it is time for the baby to be delivered.

Hypnotic programming, post hypnotic suggestions and the daily practice of self-hypnosis will allow you to be relaxed and in good spirits during the childbirth

experience.  You'll be relaxed, but fully in control.  You will be aware of your body's surges; but because you have trained yourself to reach complete relaxation,

you will be able to determine the degree to which you will feel the surges. You can experience childbirth in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear

and tension.  It is fear and tension that prevents the muscles of your body from functioning as nature intended them to. In this calm state your body's natural

anesthesia, endorphins, replace the stress hormones that constrict and cause pain.  Learn more about hypnosis and childbirth... you have nothing to lose but

fear and discomfort!
